Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Technician with hands-on experience in Cisco IP Telephony, troubleshooting analogue lines, Ethernet cable crimping, and working with patch panels. The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of Cisco networking hardware and have a passion for providing excellent network solutions. You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our company's network infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime, and performing diagnostics on both analog and digital systems:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cisco IP Telephony Support:
o Install, configure, and maintain Cisco IP telephony systems, including hardware and software components.
o Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Cisco IP phones, voicemail, call routing, and integration with other communication systems.
2. Analog Line Troubleshooting:
o Troubleshoot and resolve issues with analogue telephone lines and gateways.
o Test, repair, and maintain analogue lines to ensure optimal performance.
3. Ethernet Cable Crimping and Testing:
o Crimp, terminate, and test Ethernet cables (Cat5e, Cat6) to ensure proper connectivity.
o Perform cable fault diagnosis and repair as needed.
4. Patch Panel & Structured Cabling Management:
o Maintain, and manage patch panels for network cables.
o Ensure proper cable labeling, documentation, and physical routing as part of structured cabling best practices.
o Maintain high standards of cable management to support efficient troubleshooting and future scalability.
5. Network Configuration and Troubleshooting:
o Assist in the configuration, installation, and management of Cisco routers and switches.
o Troubleshoot and resolve network issues related to routing, switching, and connectivity.
6. Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate records of network configurations, installations, and repairs.
o Prepare and submit reports on network performance and issues.
7. Collaboration and Support:
o Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to resolve network issues and implement improvements.
o Provide support for network upgrades and enhancements as required.
Qualifications:
· Certifications: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification is required.
· Experience:
o Proven hands-on experience with Cisco routers and switches.
o Expertise in troubleshooting Cisco IP telephony systems and analogue lines.
o Experience working with analogue gateways and Ethernet cable crimping.
o Familiarity with patch panel installation, structured cabling, physical routing, and cable labeling.
· Skills:
o Strong knowledge of IP networking protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, etc.).
o Proficient in using network testing tools and diagnostic equipment.
o Strong understanding of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA).
o Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
o Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
o Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
· Knowledge of voice and data network integration.
· Familiarity with network security best practices.
