Fabrication and assembly: Design, fabricate, join, and repair metal equipment, structures, and products by using techniques such as MIG, TIG, and stick welding. Blueprint interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to understand project requirements and specifications. Surface preparation: Clean and prepare metal surfaces before welding, which may include grinding, sanding, and removing impurities like grease or moisture. Quality control: Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications, making corrections as needed. Safety compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures, wear appropriate protective gear, and maintain a safe work environment. Equipment maintenance: Operate, monitor, and perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and other machinery to ensure they are in good working order. Material handling: Lift, move, and handle heavy materials and equipment. Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of their work, including processes, materials used, and any quality issues. Collaboration: Work with other team members and departments, such as design and engineering, to ensure projects are completed correctly. Finishing work: Apply final decorative coats or polish the welded product to ensure a good finish.
