Roles and Responsibility
The function of Staff Nurse Position is to provide competent, age specific, developmentally, and specialty appropriate nursing care by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills, and for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients/families in accordance with the organization’s approved policies and procedures.
Manages and treats patients without the need for hospital admission. Assist the doctor/consultant in examining the patient and other procedures. Provides patient management, transition coordination, discharge planning, and issuance of all appropriate authorizations for covered services as needed for providers and members.

Responsible to provide direct and indirect nursing care in the out-patient /In patient care setting; Communicates with physicians, charge nurse and head nurses, ancillary, and support as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Can respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, can perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision with the established hospital wide, departmental and unit specific policies and procedures, protocols, etc.
