Responsible to help Field Engineers deliver high quality services to our clients. Operators are responsible for a safe and efficient wellsite operation by performing their duties under direction of the crew chief. He is directly responsible for the hand tools and the ready-box assigned to him, and cleaning all equipment post job. He is part of his operating cell and responsible for completeness and readiness of his cell by reporting to his crew chief.
Activities
Operate, under normal conditions and with supervision, the winch unit for running in and out of the hole; "zero" tools and monitor tension meter, cable speed, depth, and spooling of cable; understand depth control and weight indicator systems; use all winch cable safety controls.
Prepare well for service operations: align logging unit, install sheave wheel, thread cable, and connect multiple tools as required.
Load and unload required tools and corresponding surface instrumentation for the job.
Assist the Engineer in post-job maintenance checks of tools and equipment in the location (FIT 1).
Participate in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing primary tools, service units, and associated equipment according to the maintenance program.
Learn to service, maintain, and assist in cable maintenance.
Identify the surface instrumentation, tools, and associated equipment required to run each service in the location.
Observe safe-working practices, rules and regulations, wear safety equipment as required, and correct and report hazards immediately.
Maintain tools, shop, and equipment in good condition and keep shop and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Drive assigned vehicle and transport units/logging trucks, if holding applicable license, safely.
Study the assigned learning material and tasks in the Operator section of the training manual.
Perform agreed upon yearly individual KPIs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
People Management
Work well with other employees to ensure the smooth operation of the location.
Responsible for their own training development.
Support the training of the Junior Operators as required.
HSE&Q
Promote a culture of safety awareness.
Ensure his work areas are safe, clean and orderly at all times.
Update rig books and keep other paperwork (z-chart, etc) in good order.
Follow the company policies and procedures on health, safety and environment.
Support Management efforts to minimize general HSE&Q risks, and promote respect, understanding and adherence to safety regulations.
Conduct unsafe act and hazardous situation audits / identification.
Continuously strive to optimize the safety and efficiency of maintenance procedures.
Maintain strict confidentiality of the company and client information.
Make sure journey management completed for each mobilization.
Take an active part in the company HSE&Q related functions.
Behavioural & Technical Competencies
Basic Skills:
Good mechanical aptitude
Understanding of basic mathematics
Understanding of basic principles of electricity
Knowledge of windows-based systems (ICDL preferred)
