Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled 3D Printing Engineer to manage, operate, and optimize additive manufacturing processes. The role involves working with industrial and desktop 3D printers, preparing print files, selecting materials, performing maintenance, and supporting product development, prototyping, and production activities.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and manage FDM, SLA, SLS, and other additive manufacturing systems
Prepare and optimize 3D models for printing (slicing, supports, orientation, tolerances)
Perform printer calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance
Select appropriate materials based on mechanical, thermal, and aesthetic requirements
Monitor print jobs to ensure quality and minimize failures
Post-process printed parts (cleaning, curing, sanding, finishing, assembly)
Collaborate with design, engineering, and production teams on prototypes and end-use parts
Maintain print logs, material consumption records, and job reports
Implement workflow improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
Train staff or clients on machine operation and best practices when required
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Hands-on experience with 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS, MJF, etc.)
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar)
Experience with slicing software (PrusaSlicer, Cura, Simplify3D, PreForm, etc.)
Understanding of materials such as PLA, ABS, PETG, Nylon, Resins, and composites
Knowledge of mechanical design, tolerancing, and DfAM (Design for Additive Manufacturing)
