- Conduct detailed analysis of project specifications, drawings, and documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical, pipeline, civil, and electrical & instrumentation projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather relevant information, ensuring all aspects of the project scope are covered in the estimates.
- Utilize advanced estimation software to compile data and generate comprehensive bid proposals that reflect both material and labor costs effectively.
- Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis using industry-standard methodologies to determine the most accurate projections.
- Review and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure alignment with project requirements and budget constraints.
- Prepare risk assessments by identifying potential project pitfalls and developing contingency plans to mitigate financial impacts.
- Maintain a database of historical cost data and benchmarks to inform future estimates and optimize bidding strategies.
- Assist in the negotiation process with clients and vendors, providing insight into pricing structures and material costs.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material prices, and technological advancements to enhance the accuracy of estimates.
- Participate in post-project evaluations and lessons learned sessions to continuously improve the estimating process and methodologies.
