We need a Lead Mechanical Technician. We want a real gear head who lives in the shop, knows every tool, and builds things with their hands.
You will build our hydrogen electrolysis cells, organize the R&D lab, take care of all the tools, and teach a junior technician. You will work next to the Mechanical Engineer, under the Director of R&D and the CTO.
What you will do:
Build electrolysis cells and prototype systems by hand. Use fittings, pipes, hoses, clamps, seals, and plates.
Pick the right fitting for every job: NPT, BSPT, compression, and push-to-connect. Know them all.
Use every kind of hand tool and power tool. Drills, grinders, saws, presses, and taps.
Read process flow diagrams. Suggest better fittings, better routes, simpler builds.
Organize the lab. Build cabinets, tool boards, and parts storage. Turn mess into order.
Take care of all tools. Keep them clean, sharp, calibrated, and ready.
Teach and lead the junior technician.
What you need:
Many years of real shop work in a fabrication, garage, prototype, or machine shop.
Strong knowledge of fittings, pipes, hoses, and clamps. Especially NPT and BSPT.
Skill with every hand tool and power tool.
Can read mechanical drawings and flow charts.
Can turn a messy space into a clean, easy-to-use space.
