Primary Functions
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees a technical team of maintenance foremen and technicians to efficiently execute all maintenance work orders or job cards as directed by the Engineer/Planner. Integral to this role is ensuring strict compliance with the SAP PM plan and addressing specific site requirements for maintenance tasks. Additionally, the Supervisor is responsible for accurate data entry and completion of work orders. Solid trade knowledge and technical skills are essential for promptly attending to, addressing, and resolving equipment failures.
1) Site Management:
Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of maintenance foremen and technicians to ensure the effective execution of maintenance tasks.
Provide technical guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
For Mobile Plant equipment and Utilities:
a) Responsible to maintain all Fixed equipment such as but not limited to CNC Equipment, PLC based Equipment, Hydraulic Equipment, other pre-fabrication machinery, welding machines, blasting, and painting equipment.
b) Responsible for maintaining all portable equipment such as but not limited to welding machines, grinders, chipping guns, torches, welding ovens, rollers, manipulators.
c) Responsible for maintaining mobile plant equipment such as but not limited to forklifts, MEWPs, cleaning machines, air compressors, generators, and other material handling equipment.
d) Responsible to maintain Equipment in all the workshop facilities.
e) Responsible for maintaining all mechanical utilities in all the workshop facilities and exterior of the yard such as utility lines and appliances.
For Transportation and Lifting Equipment
a) Responsible for the maintenance of all lifting and transportation equipment such as but not limited to electric overhead cranes, portal JIB cranes, all terrain and rough terrain mobile cranes, crawler cranes, shipyard transporters, self-propelled modular transporters.
b) Responsible for the maintenance of all portable geared and powered lifting appliances such electric hoists, chain hoists, hydraulic jacks, pedestal jacks, load cells.
Conduct TBT and work preparatory instructions to the workforce to ensure compliance to QFAB's QHSES requirements.
Facilitate PTW requirements, energy isolation, HIT card and relevant safety measures as applicable.
Collaborate with Maintenance Engineer in case of assistance required for maintenance quality measurement and use of precision or special tools.
2) Maintenance Work Orders Execution:
Supervise the timely and efficient execution of all maintenance work orders or job cards assigned by the Engineer for the Planner group.
Ensure that maintenance tasks are completed according to established procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
All man hours and resource utilization for the work order must be recorded in SAP PM WO followed by review of the Maintenance Engineer
Provide spare parts and external service request to Maintenance Engineer for review and necessary action.
Work order completion report to be submitted to Maintenance Engineer with all findings, actions and pending items if any.
Adhere to department maintenance workflow process.
3) Compliance with SAP PM Plan:
Enforce strict adherence to the SAP PM plan for maintenance activities, including scheduling, execution, and documentation.
Monitor team performance to ensure compliance with work order requirements and deadlines.
4) Addressing Equipment Failures:
Utilize solid trade knowledge and technical skills to promptly attend to, address, and resolve equipment failures.
Collaborate with maintenance team members and other stakeholders to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
Respond to breakdown notification and address the issues by troubleshooting and repair.
Obtain technical guidance from Maintenance Engineer as and when required.
5) Data Entry and Completion:
Oversee accurate data entry and completion for work orders in the SAP PM system, including updating work status and recording observations.
Conduct regular verification of work order data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
6) Communication with work groups:
Closely engage with Production supervisor for equipment malfunction, observations and cascade the information to Maintenance Engineer for improvements.
Coordinate with production supervisor to align equipment availability and utilization plan to determine maintenance window and condition assessment.
