- Cost Estimation and Analysis oversee and prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP systems, factoring in materials, labor, and project-specific requirements.
- Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of project documents, including blueprints, specifications, and materials lists, to ensure accurate estimations.
- Develop cost-saving strategies and recommendations to optimize project budgets without compromising quality.
- Tender and Bid Management. Manage the preparation and submission of tenders, ensuring that all aspects of MEP cost estimation align with client expectations and industry standards.
- Review and refine bid submissions to ensure competitiveness, accuracy, and completeness.
- Engage with clients, contractors, and vendors to clarify tender specifications and negotiate pricing.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration. Lead a team of estimators and junior estimators, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to integrate estimation processes and improve overall project efficiency.
- Ensure that the team adheres to best practices, standards, and deadlines in MEP cost estimation.
- Market Research and Supplier Management. Stay updated on current market rates, material costs, and supplier pricing in the construction and MEP industries.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to negotiate favorable terms and secure materials at competitive prices.
- Reporting and Documentation. Develop comprehensive reports on cost estimates, budget comparisons, and financial forecasts to support project decision-making.
- Maintain meticulous records of estimations, supplier quotes, and other relevant documents for future reference and audits.
