1. Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed project schedules (using tools like Primavera P6, MS Project) for mechanical & piping works.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards (ASME, ANSI, API, etc.) and client specifications.

2. Budget & Cost Management

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and monitor expenditures.
  • Control project costs to stay within approved budgets.
  • Review and approve vendor invoices and contractor payments.

3. Engineering & Design Oversight

  • Coordinate with engineering teams for piping design, stress analysis, material selection, and isometric drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with P&IDs, ISO standards, and 3D modeling (using tools like AutoCAD, SP3D, PDMS).
  • Review mechanical equipment specifications (pumps, valves, vessels, heat exchangers).

4. Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Manage procurement of piping materials (CS, SS, alloys), valves, fittings, and mechanical equipment.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors for timely delivery.
  • Conduct technical bid evaluations and ensure quality compliance.

5. Construction & Installation Supervision

  • Oversee fabrication, welding (WPS/PQR), NDT, and erection of piping systems.
  • Monitor site progress, ensuring adherence to safety (OSHA, HSE) and quality standards.
  • Resolve technical issues related to mechanical/piping installation.

6. Quality Assurance & Inspection

  • Ensure compliance with codes (ASME B31.3, B31.1, API 570).
  • Coordinate with QC inspectors for hydrotesting, PWHT, and leak testing.
  • Manage documentation (MTCs, ITPs, weld maps).

7. Risk & Safety Management

  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure safety protocols (LOTO, confined space, hot work permits) are followed.
  • Conduct safety audits and incident investigations.

8. Stakeholder & Team Coordination

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams (engineers, contractors, clients).
  • Conduct progress meetings and provide reports to senior management.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and handle change orders effectively.

9. Commissioning & Handover

  • Oversee pre-commissioning checks, flushing, and final inspections.
  • Ensure as-built documentation and project closeout.
