About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate Wildlife Photographer to join our team in Kerala. The ideal candidate will have 2–7 years of professional experience capturing stunning images of wildlife in diverse habitats, a deep understanding of animal behavior, and the technical expertise to produce high-quality photographs. This role involves planning and executing photography expeditions, collaborating with conservationists, and maintaining ethical and safety standards in the field.
Responsibilities:
Plan and execute wildlife photography expeditions across Kerala’s forests, wetlands, and coasts
Scout, research, and identify prime locations and subjects for wildlife imagery
Operate and maintain DSLR and mirrorless camera systems in varied lighting and weather conditions
Edit and retouch photographs using professional software to meet publication standards
Maintain and care for photography equipment during field assignments
Collaborate with conservationists, researchers, and local guides to ensure ethical practices
Adhere to safety protocols and minimize disturbance to wildlife
Organize and manage digital assets, ensuring timely delivery of images to stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
2–7 years of professional wildlife photography experience
Proficient in DSLR and mirrorless camera operation and maintenance
Strong technical skills in photo editing and retouching software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop)
In-depth knowledge of wildlife behavior and habitat patterns
Demonstrated patience and ability to work long hours in remote and challenging environments
Physical stamina to trek, carry equipment, and endure varied weather conditions
Portfolio showcasing high-quality wildlife images
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in photography, wildlife biology, or related field
Experience with drone photography and videography
Familiarity with Kerala’s native fauna and ecosystems
Basic first aid and wilderness survival certification
Fluency in Malayalam or other local languages
Published work in wildlife magazines, exhibitions, or documentaries
Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with teams and stakeholders
