We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Geotechnical Laboratory Manager to assess the operations of our geotechnical testing facility. This role involves managing laboratory staff, ensuring compliance with industry standards, maintaining equipment, and delivering high-quality test results that support civil and geotechnical engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in soil and rock mechanics, leadership experience, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities:Laboratory Operations ManagementSupervise day-to-day laboratory activities of the geotechnical section, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.Ensure the lab operates efficiently and meets project deadlines.Implement and enforce quality control procedures and testing standards (ASTM, BS, AASHTO).Staff Supervision and TrainingLead, train, and evaluate laboratory technicians and support staff.Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and professional development.Equipment Maintenance and CalibrationOversee regular calibration and maintenance of testing equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.Quality Assurance and ComplianceMaintain accreditation standards and ensure compliance with industry regulations.Review and approve laboratory test reports for accuracy and completeness.Project Coordination and ReportingCollaborate with geotechnical engineers and project managers to schedule tests and interpret results.Prepare technical documentation, test logs, and quality assurance reports.Budget and Resource ManagementManage laboratory budgets, procurement, and cost-efficiency initiatives.Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation.Client and Internal CommunicationServe as a technical point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.Ensure timely and clear communication of test results and project updates.
