Job Summary
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and rate analyses for civil, structural, and finishing works based on drawings, BOQs, and project specifications. The role ensures project costings are realistic, competitive, and aligned with company profit objectives while supporting tendering and project execution activities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quantity Take-Off & Cost Estimation
Review drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications
Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for materials and manpower
Develop cost estimates and rate analysis
Ensure estimation accuracy within ±5%
2. Tender & Bid Preparation
Collect supplier and subcontractor quotations
Prepare pricing documents and tender summaries
Assist in tender reviews and submissions
Ensure submission before deadlines with zero major errors
3. Budgeting & Cost Control Support
Support project budgeting and forecasting
Monitor material and labour cost variations
Update cost sheets and variance reports
Maintain budget vs actual variance within 5%
4. Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
Obtain competitive quotations
Prepare comparative statements (CST)
Clarify scope and pricing with vendors/subcontractors
Provide transparent cost justifications
5. Design & Drawing Review
Review IFC drawings for scope clarity
Identify discrepancies and raise queries
Suggest value engineering and cost-saving solutions
6. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain estimation database and unit rates
Keep BOQs, drawings, and correspondences organized
Submit weekly progress and pending reports
7. Coordination & Communication
Coordinate with Procurement, Projects, and Design teams
Attend internal review meetings
Support Operation Manager during tender clarifications
