Job Overview:

The Mechanical Draftsman is responsible for the preparation and design of AutoCAD shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings for MEP projects at Palace Group. This role ensures that all drawings comply with consultant and authority requirements while supporting project teams in executing high-quality construction works.

Key Responsibilities

Design and Drafting

• Develop and prepare MEP-related shop drawings as per consultant and authority specifications.

• Create detailed coordination drawings, integrating HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and electrical systems.

• Assist the Project manager and project team by preparing accurate and detailed project-related drawings.

• Process and review subcontractor shop drawings to ensure compliance with project standards.

• Prepare as-built drawings following regulatory and authority requirements.

Project Coordination and Documentation

• Ensure proper coordination of mechanical designs with electrical and structural components of the project.

• Work closely with engineers and project managers to finalize designs and resolve conflicts.

• Maintain accurate documentation of all drawings and revisions, ensuring proper record-keeping.

• Perform quantity take-offs and assist in the preparation of material lists.

Compliance and Standards

• Ensure drawings align with local authority requirements, building codes, and safety regulations.

• Stay updated on the latest construction methodologies and industry best practices.

• Perform other tasks as instructed by the direct line manager.

• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying areas for efficiency in drafting and design processes.
