Role Accountabilities
Release Planning and Scheduling
Support the maintenance of the release calendar by consolidating input from delivery teams, ensuring alignment with release standards.
Coordinate the execution of release management processes, validating cross team outputs to enable smooth releases.
Be a spec for projects and epics to execute release and enforce release methodology; ensure required sign offs from Product, Compliance, Engineering, and Operations are documented.
Quality Assurance
Verify that releases meet defined quality standards and fintech specific compliance requirements by validating test completion and signoffs from QA and security teams.
Coordinate with testing, product, and operations teams to confirm that compatibility, performance, and system readiness criteria have been met prior to production deployment.
Deployment Oversight
Monitor deployment activities across lower, prod like (staging/UAT), and production environments, ensuring adherence to runbooks and rollback procedures.
Collaborate with project/agile teams delivering each release
Align with IT operations and business operations teams to confirm support readiness and to coordinate post deployment validation activities.
Change Management
Support the Change Advisory Board (CAB) process by validating deployment and rollback plans and maintaining accurate records of production changes.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Release success rate: ≥ 98% of deployments completed without critical incident.
Deployment lead time: Reduction in time from code complete to production deployment.
Go/no-go adherence: 100% of production releases follow formal go/no-go process with required approvals.
Environment uptime (test/staging): ≥ 99% availability during planned testing windows.
Change compliance: 100% of production changes have documented approval, risk assessment, and rollback plan.
Release rollback rate: ≤ 2% of releases require rollback.
Post release defect density: ≤ 1 critical defect per major release from internal development detected within 48 hours post deployment.
