- Conduct frequent site inspections, proactively identifying and mitigating hazards before incidents occur, ensuring a safe work environment for all.
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and training initiatives, tailored to the specific construction project, empowering workers with the knowledge to protect themselves.
- Investigate accidents and incidents thoroughly, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence, contributing to continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations (OSHA, local codes, etc.), proactively updating procedures to reflect changes and maintain legal adherence.
- Manage and maintain all safety-related documentation, including permits, reports, and training records, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for audits.
- Coordinate and lead safety meetings and toolbox talks, fostering a culture of safety awareness and open communication among workers, supervisors and contractors.
- Provide expert guidance and support to project managers and subcontractors on safety matters, helping them integrate safety into their daily operations.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs, using data to identify areas for improvement and drive a proactive approach to safety management.
- Oversee the proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE), ensuring that all workers have the appropriate gear and know how to use it.
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging safety technologies, incorporating innovations to enhance safety performance and prevent accidents.
