Job Purpose
The M&V Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing measurement and verification plans for energy efficiency projects. The role also includes coordinating with the design, proposals / BD and the site teams and concerned authorities to enable project execution.
Job Responsibilities
  *  Develop and implement M&V plans for energy savings performance contracting (ESPC) projects at various facilities.
  *  Work along with the Project Design / Audit team to arrive at ECM-specific M&V approaches. Evaluate project performance risk, analyze savings calculations, review final M&V plans, and develop construction and service phase M&V budgets.
  *  Analyze and normalize utility data using linear regressions and other analyses.
  *  Supervise baseline and Pre / post-installation data collection, including trend data from building automation systems, field measurements, data loggers, and performance tests.
  *  Diagnose HVAC and building system performance issues and draw up proper technical solutions to ensure & demonstrate proposed energy savings within the allotted budget.
  *  Provide technical assistance with ongoing review of data from energy management systems, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, and energy savings analysis in co-ordination with the Asset Management Team.
  *  Prepare monthly / quarterly / annual energy savings reports in line with the IPMVP protocols and facilitate the billing process with customers.
  *  Develop & implement Measurement & Verification (M&V) plans for ESPC projects
  *  Interface with Energy Engineers for reviews of baselines, design intent and savings calculations
  *  Review, analyse and manage Energy Analysis by others including utility bill accounting, GHG inventory, end-use analysis and tariff modelling. Advise or perform the aforementioned as needed
  *  Participate in data collection and performance verification of baseline and retrofitted equipment
  *  Conduct spot measurements and short-term data collection during the ESPC (Energy Savings Performance Contract) lifecycle as required
  *  Review building or campus energy systems baselines and develop baseline adjustments based on site reviews
  *  Analyse energy management control system?s operation, sequences and trend data for system optimization and compliance to the M&V plan
  *  Perform on-site trouble shooting and data logging to validate and correct project performance
  *  Determine and forecast shortfall pay outs. Notify stakeholders of potential savings shortfall, coordinate form of guarantee shortfall makeup, and closeout customer receipt/acceptance of annual performance period. Assist in any shortfall mitigation activities
  *  Maintain all customer records related to energy performance contracts
  *  Prepare savings performance analysis, reporting and/or presentations for customers. Educate customer on the results
  *  Prepare customer Meeting Reports to document all agreements and needed actions
Job Requirements
Qualifications
  *  Bachelor?s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institution
  *  Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) is required, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is desirable
Experience
  *  Must have minimum 2-4 years of relevant work experience in similar industry.
  *  Experience with HVAC/HVAC Engineering desired, including building controls and management systems.
  *  2-3 years' experience in engineering and energy savings calculations for performance contracting
  *  2-3 years' knowledge and practice of M&V protocols and guidelines (like FEMP and IPMVP)
Knowledge & Skills
  *  Must have a functional knowledge about the workings of an energy management company / ESCO
  *  Must possess a good understanding of engineering, design skills and concepts
  *  Good interpersonal skills in maintaining business relationship with clients
  *  Must possess good oral and written communication skills
  *  Proficient in Microsoft Excel including layout for shared use and computational functions
  *  Advanced Excel, Word, SQL, Access, Outlook, Tableau use and programming skills.
  *  Experience with building energy simulation software programs such as Trane Trace, eQUEST, EnergyPlus, etc.
  *  Effective face-to-face and virtual presentation, influencing, communicating, and negotiating skills.
  *  Analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to provide sound and reliable judgment in business solutions.
  *  Sound business acumen, including resource management, cash flows, conflict resolution, and contract management.
  *  Ability to set up tasks, document and work collaboratively in an online team environment with local and global partners.
  *  Strong organization and planning skills including electronic file and email management.
