Job Description

Desert Man Transporting and Contracting is looking for an experienced Chargehand – Earthworks to join our infrastructure and construction team in Abu Dhabi.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in earthworks and excavation activities within infrastructure projects in the UAE, with the ability to supervise labor teams, coordinate site activities, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily earthworks and excavation activities on site

• Lead and manage labor teams, operators, and skilled workers

• Ensure site works are carried out according to project requirements and safety standards

• Monitor excavation, backfilling, grading, leveling, and compaction activities

• Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors for daily work execution

• Ensure proper use of equipment, tools, and materials

• Maintain productivity and quality of work on site

• Report site issues, delays, and manpower requirements to supervisors

• Ensure housekeeping and safety compliance at all times
  

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of UAE experience in earthworks/infrastructure projects

• Strong knowledge of excavation, backfilling, and grading activities

• Experience working in roadworks, utilities, or infrastructure projects preferred

• Ability to supervise labor teams and coordinate site operations

• Familiarity with construction site safety practices

• Basic communication skills in English or Hindi/Urdu

• Immediate joiners preferred

• Infrastructure projects

• Utilities and pipeline works

• Roadworks and site preparation

• Excavation and trenching

• Compaction and grading works

will be highly preferred.
