Job Overview:

The Estimator in an Automotive Service Centre is responsible for assessing vehicle damage, determining the cost of repairs or services, and preparing accurate estimates for customers. This role requires a high level of technical knowledge about automotive systems, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers in Arabic. The Estimator plays a key role in ensuring that customers receive accurate, transparent, and timely service estimates for their vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Vehicle Assessment and Damage Inspection:Inspect vehicles brought in for service or repairs to assess the extent of damage and identify necessary repairs.
    Collaborate with technicians and mechanics to ensure accurate assessment of parts, labor, and time required for repairs.
  2. Cost Estimation:Prepare detailed estimates for vehicle repairs, including parts, labor, and any other services required.
    Utilize estimation software and reference guides to calculate and verify costs.
    Provide accurate, transparent estimates for both minor repairs and complex work.
  3. Customer Communication:Meet with customers to discuss the specifics of their vehicle’s issues and explain the proposed repairs and associated costs.
    Provide clear and accurate estimates in Arabic and ensure customer understanding.
    Offer recommendations on the best repair options based on vehicle condition and customer preferences.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of estimates, customer communications, and vehicle service history.
    Ensure all estimates are documented and signed off by the customer before proceeding with any work.
    Prepare and present cost breakdowns and financial forecasts as necessary.
  5. Liaison with Suppliers and Vendors:Work with suppliers and vendors to obtain quotes for parts and materials.
    Negotiate pricing and terms to ensure competitive pricing for both the service centre and customers.
  6. Customer Service:Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any concerns or questions from customers regarding repair costs, timeframes, and services.
    Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with the estimates provided and the quality of the service performed.
  7. Continuous Improvement: StayStay updated with automotive repair trends, new technologies, and cost-saving measures.
    Suggest improvements in estimating practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    Participate in training sessions and workshops to improve knowledge of vehicle systems and estimation techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Education:High school diploma or equivalent (required).
    Additional certification or training in automotive repair or estimation (preferred).
  • Experience:2-3 years of experience in an automotive service centre or similar role, preferably with a focus on estimating repairs.
    Prior experience in a customer-facing role, especially within the automotive industry, is preferred.
  • Skills:Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes, systems, and parts.
    Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Mitchell 1, AutoMate, etc.).
    Fluent in Arabic (both written and spoken) to effectively communicate with Arabic-speaking customers.
    Strong attention to detail and ability to provide accurate, thorough estimates.
    Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to customers in a simple and clear manner.
    Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
