An aluminium and copper scrap quality Incharge is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality assurance within a scrap metal recycling operation, ensuring that incoming raw materials and outgoing processed metals (aluminium and copper) meet strict internal, customer, and international industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesInspection and Testing: Conduct thorough inspections and quality audits of incoming raw materials and outgoing products, utilizing precision measuring tools, equipment like spectrometers and radiation monitors for elemental analysis and safety checks.Quality Standards Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies, procedures, and standards for sorting, purification, and processing of aluminium and copper scrap.Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate records of inspections, test results, non-conformities, and corrective actions. Prepare regular quality reports for management, customers, and auditors.Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to industry standards, customer specifications, and all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHAS, EPA).Problem Resolution: Investigate customer complaints or non-conformance issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.Team Leadership and Training: Supervise, train, and mentor quality control inspectors and yard personnel on inspection protocols, safety procedures, and effective recycling strategies.Quality Process Improvement: Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement in the collection, sorting, and processing workflows. Lead continuous improvement initiatives.Supplier and Customer Relations: Interface with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and communicate with customers regarding shipment specifications and quality expectations.Necessary Qualifications and SkillsExperience: Relevant experience in the metal recycling industry or a related manufacturing/industrial environment, with prior experience in a quality control or supervisory role.(Aluminium & Copper will be given preference)Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of different types and grades of aluminum and copper scrap, as well as relevant testing methods and equipment (spectrometers, XRF analyzers).Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and data to make informed decisions.Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting and collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to identify defects and deviations from quality standards.Computer Proficiency: Experience with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and potentially quality management software or enterprise systems like SAP.Education: A bachelor's degree in engineering, material science, or a related technical field is often preferred, but relevant work experience can be an equivalent combination.This role is crucial for ensuring product excellence, optimizing operational efficiency, and maintaining compliance within the scrap metal supply chain.
